Can SoloZone be fitted to any type of desk?
Yes, as long as there is sufficient clear space below the desk and the worktop is of a wood-based material. SoloZone is currently not suitable for fixing to glass or metal worktops.
I’m worried about cyber security. Is this an issue with the 433Mhz remote control frequency?
No, definitely not. It’s highly unlikely that anyone would want to hack into a personal heater. Even if they did, they would find it extremely difficult. The SoloZone remote control system employs rolling code encryption and one-to-one pairing. Rolling code technology ensures that each transmitted code is unique and changes with every use, making it extremely difficult for attackers to replicate or predict the next code. The unique pairing means that there’s no possibility of interfering with a neighbour’s system. SoloZone fully complies with the Radio Equipment Directive and is CE marked.
Is the packaging material sustainable?
Yes. Our packaging is made from recycled corrugated cardboard and is completely biodegradable. Even the internal protection and sealing tape is paper based and recyclable.
How much does SoloZone cost to run?
Based on an electricity cost of 25p per kWh, SoloZone would cost only 4p per hour to run.
What warranty do I get?
5 years on the heater and control system.
What is the fire risk?
Portable fan heaters pose a significant fire risk because they use intense heat on exposed internal metal coils, which can ignite nearby flammable materials. SoloZone heaters are permanently fixed and do not have any exposed heating elements.
Is SoloZone easy to install?
SoloZone is very lightweight and can easily be installed by one person in under 10 minutes. Full instructions are provided in the box and downloadable on our website.
The remote is battery operated. How long should the battery last?
6 to 10 years under normal use. Changing the CR2032 battery is easy and instructions are provided.
What is the normal surface temperature of SoloZone?
At an ambient temperature of 21°C, the maximum surface temperature will be 75°C.
What is the simple payback I can expect?
SoloZone is highly effective but operates on very low power; only 160W. Compared to a 2kW fan heater running 6 hours a day, 5 days per week and electricity costing £0.25kWh, the payback would be 9 weeks. If the fan heater was left running overnight or at weekends, the payback would be considerably less,
Does SoloZone require any maintenance?
No, SoloZone is maintenance free. There are no filters or other consumables to replace.
How will SoloZone affect my wellbeing?
